{"id":158,"date":"2016-11-07T06:10:00","date_gmt":"2016-11-07T06:10:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cherylrostek.com\/index.php\/2016\/11\/07\/the-diagnosis\/"},"modified":"2016-11-07T06:10:00","modified_gmt":"2016-11-07T06:10:00","slug":"the-diagnosis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cherylrostek.com\/index.php\/2016\/11\/07\/the-diagnosis\/","title":{"rendered":"The Diagnosis"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\">Promises.<span style=\"margin: 0px;\">&nbsp; <\/span>I have been given promises, hope, and truth.<span style=\"margin: 0px;\">&nbsp; <\/span>They are not as I expected or desired.<span style=\"margin: 0px;\">&nbsp; <\/span>Indeed it is hard to fathom my diagnosis: glioblastoma.<span style=\"margin: 0px;\">&nbsp; <\/span>Nasty, aggressive brain cancer.<span style=\"margin: 0px;\">&nbsp; <\/span>In the deep sorrow of grieving the future I had envisioned for my family, I remain steadfast.<span style=\"margin: 0px;\">&nbsp; <\/span><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\">I am promised in Joshua 1:9 that I needn\u2019t be afraid or discouraged because my Lord and God will be with me wherever I go.<span style=\"margin: 0px;\">&nbsp; <\/span>In Psalm 118:24 I am reminded to Rejoice in this day that my Lord has given me.<span style=\"margin: 0px;\">&nbsp; <\/span>I am brought to a place where I rest in how much I have been GIVEN. <span style=\"margin: 0px;\">&nbsp;<\/span>I am in a place where I am ready to fight! With prayer and with determination!<span style=\"margin: 0px;\">&nbsp; <\/span>I feel so very good right now and I am ready to LIVE.<span style=\"margin: 0px;\">&nbsp; <\/span>I have always lived my life with no regrets, full-out, now is no exception.<span style=\"margin: 0px;\">&nbsp; <\/span><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\">My dear friend shared these words with me about cancer:<span style=\"margin: 0px;\">&nbsp; <\/span>Cancer is so limited.<span style=\"margin: 0px;\">&nbsp; <\/span>Remember this. It cannot steal joy or love or family.<span style=\"margin: 0px;\">&nbsp; <\/span>It cannot take your faith.<span style=\"margin: 0px;\">&nbsp; <\/span>It cannot destroy peace or kill friendship.<span style=\"margin: 0px;\">&nbsp; <\/span>It cannot shatter hope or steal eternal life.<\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\">I have a powerful, mighty God.<span style=\"margin: 0px;\">&nbsp; <\/span>I invite you to join me in praying to Him.<span style=\"margin: 0px;\">&nbsp; <\/span>Join me in asking for a miracle to destroy all these rogue cancer cells in my body.<span style=\"margin: 0px;\">&nbsp; <\/span>Join me in asking for years ahead to spend with my cherished husband, children and friends.<span style=\"margin: 0px;\">&nbsp; <\/span>Join me in praise to the Giver of life who has given me 35 blessed, blessed years.<span style=\"margin: 0px;\">&nbsp; <\/span>Join me in the sorrow, but ultimately in the hope.<span style=\"margin: 0px;\">&nbsp; <\/span>In this bad news is the good news; the news of a Savior who gives life in its fullness.<span style=\"margin: 0px;\">&nbsp; <\/span>I trust that in days ahead I will \u201cexperience the love of Christ\u2026and be filled with the fullness of life and power that comes from God.\u201d (Ephesians 3:19) <span style=\"margin: 0px;\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\">In these days I have been greeted with beautiful humanity.<span style=\"margin: 0px;\">&nbsp; <\/span>I have a core of precious, precious friends who surround me.<span style=\"margin: 0px;\">&nbsp; <\/span>These friends are in addition to the strong support of both mine and Ryan\u2019s family. And beyond these relationships people are reaching out: coworkers, acquaintances, strangers.<span style=\"margin: 0px;\">&nbsp; <\/span>It is a beautiful display of love; it is Christ\u2019s love reaching out through meals, childcare and petitioning unrelenting prayer and intercession on my behalf.<span style=\"margin: 0px;\">&nbsp; <\/span>Oh how beautiful it is!<\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0px;\">Truly I have tried to put words to a situation that has no words good enough to describe.<span style=\"margin: 0px;\">&nbsp;
