{"id":80,"date":"2018-04-12T19:22:00","date_gmt":"2018-04-12T19:22:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cherylrostek.com\/index.php\/2018\/04\/12\/my-victory-song\/"},"modified":"2018-04-12T19:22:00","modified_gmt":"2018-04-12T19:22:00","slug":"my-victory-song","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cherylrostek.com\/index.php\/2018\/04\/12\/my-victory-song\/","title":{"rendered":"My Victory Song"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>On Easter Sunday I was given the opportunity to share during our church service how Jesus has changed everything in my life.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp; <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.firstave.org\/this-changes-everything\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Here is a link<\/a> to the sermon (I share around the <st1:time hour=\"21\" minute=\"0\">21:00<\/st1:time> min mark). I will write out below what I shared.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>In contemplation of Easter and going forward I find myself in awe and adoration of how much my God loves me.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp; <\/span>This indeed is life-changing love.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp; <\/span>You see when I was diagnosed with cancer, and I uncovered my dismal prognosis, I had a HUGE and desperate need to feel loved.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp; <\/span>To feel unconditionally loved by the bucket-loads.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp; <\/span>I needed love that was way beyond what any human (even my incredible husband!) could offer.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp; <\/span>I needed the kind of love that God offers!<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>God showed me his love through<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-left: .5in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; tab-stops: list .5in; text-indent: -.25in;\"><!--[if !supportLists]--><span style=\"mso-fareast-font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;;\"><span style=\"mso-list: Ignore;\">1)<span style=\"font: 7.0pt &quot;Times New Roman&quot;;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/span><\/span><\/span><!--[endif]--><span dir=\"LTR\">People.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp; <\/span>People gave meals provided childcare, prayed for us, sent encouraging words.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-left: .5in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; tab-stops: list .5in; text-indent: -.25in;\"><!--[if !supportLists]--><span style=\"mso-fareast-font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;;\"><span style=\"mso-list: Ignore;\">2)<span style=\"font: 7.0pt &quot;Times New Roman&quot;;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/span><\/span><\/span><!--[endif]--><span dir=\"LTR\">The Bible: The words of scripture came alive to me.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp; <\/span>As I chose to spend daily time reading scripture God\u2019s love leapt of the pages and into my heart.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-left: .5in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; tab-stops: list .5in; text-indent: -.25in;\"><!--[if !supportLists]--><span style=\"mso-fareast-font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;;\"><span style=\"mso-list: Ignore;\">3)<span style=\"font: 7.0pt &quot;Times New Roman&quot;;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/span><\/span><\/span><!--[endif]--><span dir=\"LTR\">The Holy Spirit: God spoke to my soul affirming how much He loved me.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp; <\/span>I described to my 6 year old, it felt like Jesus was holding my heart in his gentle and loving hands.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-left: .5in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; tab-stops: list .5in; text-indent: -.25in;\"><!--[if !supportLists]--><span style=\"mso-fareast-font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;;\"><span style=\"mso-list: Ignore;\">4)<span style=\"font: 7.0pt &quot;Times New Roman&quot;;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/span><\/span><\/span><!--[endif]--><span dir=\"LTR\">Easter: In celebrating Easter and contemplating what it took for Jesus to die an awful, shamed, and tortured death I became aware of his love for me.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp; <\/span>Further, I kept contemplating how my mom told me a few months ago that she had not wanted me to die.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp; <\/span>Obviously, but she said this in light of acknowledging that while she doesn\u2019t want her daughter to die, God gave up His son, Jesus to die for us. Ah, there is the rub!<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp; <\/span>Amazing love, indeed.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp; <\/span>For me an unworthy human.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp; <\/span>How profound<\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Slowly as I realize more and more how much God loves me I find that I am trusting him more completely.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp; <\/span>I am trusting that God wants good in my life and that he is fighting for me.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp; <\/span>And this trust is creating breakthroughs in my life!!!<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp; <\/span>As my trust in God is increasing my fear is disappearing and this is a tremendous breakthrough! I have shared how I have fear in the week where I wait for my MRI results after I have my MRI.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp; <\/span>Well last MRI I didn\u2019t have the usual paralyzing fear in my wait!<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>How?<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>I\u2019m realizing that God is never going to leave me no matter what!<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp; <\/span>He will ALWAYS be there.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp; <\/span>He\u2019s with me today, He\u2019ll be with me tomorrow, He\u2019ll be with me if the cancer comes back.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Now to be clear, life is NOT magically easy.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp; <\/span>I still have 3 young kids to care for and raise (and we\u2019re potty training our twins right now &#8212;- not easy at all!), we still have the ups and downs of life and I still have to go see my oncologist every couple months.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>BUT<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Trusting in Jesus allows me the freedom to have undeniable hope saturated with God\u2019s Love.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Trusting Jesus allows me to overcome fear, so I can ACTUALLY LIVE WHILE I\u2019M ALIVE!!!!<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp; <\/span>And let me tell you, I feel vibrantly alive!!! I feel more alive than I ever have!<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">&nbsp; <\/span>This truly is a VICTORY!<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>To close these 2 verses came to my attention:<\/div>\n<div>Psalm 40:3 \u201c[God] has given me a new song to sing<\/div>\n<div>(I took note of this verse because, my oldest daughter\u2019s name, Rayna, means song of the LORD)<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Romans <st1:time hour=\"8\" minute=\"37\">8:37<\/st1:time> \u201cOverwhelming victory is our through Jesus Christ who loves us!\u201d<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>When I put these 2 verses together I see that <b>Jesus has given me a victory song!<\/b><b>&nbsp;<\/b> Jesus absolutely has changed everything for me and the Easter was truly a celebration this year!!! &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div><span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\"><br \/><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\"><br \/><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\"><br \/><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\"><br \/><\/span><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On Easter Sunday I was given the opportunity to share during our church service how Jesus has changed everything in my life.&nbsp;
